I felt there was more depth in this final book, because we got to see more of the rebellion and how America and Maxon wanted change as much as the people.

I think the only people I genuinely liked in the series were Queen Amberly, Marlee and America’s maids, and I hate the love triangle which is above cheesy and dragged on for three books although everyone knew what was coming.īut here’s the bright side. If you liked The Hunger Games, Divergent, or Twilight, this book will not disappoint, including the classic love triangle with danger and stress coming between relationships.The time has come for one winner to be crowned. Moreover, Kiera Cass makes the palace life seem immensely realistic which adds to the reader’s ability to imagine and relate to the book as a whole. The author writes in a way that makes you feel relatable to the characters, despite the fact that they live in an alternate universe with unimaginable struggles. The Selection includes romantic aspects while still adding just enough action to keep you excited and waiting for trouble. The storyline of this book keeps you on an emotional rollercoaster, balancing the quiet struggles of love with mysterious villains and war. Overall, I think this book deserves a five-star rating. Throughout the book America struggles to fit into the palace life, and, as time goes on, to pick between two lovers, each of which would change her life completely. They all aim to win the heart of Prince Maxon and therefore become the crowned princess of Illéa. This book is based around America Singer, a teenage girl who is picked to enter a competition with 35 other girls. The Selection is an enthralling romantic fiction book written by Kiera Cass.
